PhD student
Her research focuses on East German agriculture and chemical production and the planned economy of the German Democratic Republic (DDR). At the ZZF, Jenna Pittman is conducting preliminary dissertation research. She is interested in understanding the global entanglements of the East German economy during the DDR’s final years and aims to situate East German history in broader European and global contexts.

Jenna Pittman is a PhD student in the Department of History at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina USA. Her fields of study include modern European history, history of technology, and modern Russian history. 
During her stay as visiting fellow at the ZZF she is conducting research in Dept. V: Globalizations in a Divided World.
